Heading out for a few weeks myself at the end of the week, just wish Newfoundland was on the schedule for this year - so amazing. Safe travels.Carolynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25633559.post-26138075480001679822009-07-28T14:39:03.693-04:002009-07-28T14:39:03.693-04:00Hey Mat, thanks for catching that.... it was a typ...Hey Mat, thanks for catching that.... it was a typo on my part. RAID 0 is striping, not mirroring. Which would make losing your data multiple times more likely than a single drive. RAID 1 is mirroring. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_RAID_levels#RAID_0

Otherwise your method looks pretty solid. I would just emphasize for others that human error is a bigger problem than a disk failure -- so don't rely on RAID as your only backup :)Mat Malonehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/innerlogic/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25633559.post-60673517358749087892009-07-27T11:38:06.425-04:002009-07-27T11:38:06.425-04:00I've been using Drobo for over a year now and ...I've been using Drobo for over a year now and I have to say it is a great system to invest in for backing up your stuff.

Happy travels out East!Susan Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09785703051241568716noreply@blogger.com
