Algonquin Fall colours begin

I arrived in Algonquin Park yesterday to photograph fall colours and scout for the upcoming workshop this weekend. There are many places in the park along the Highway 60 corridor where fall colours are already vibrant - approaching 50% of the canopy. It should build towards peak in about a week - around the last few days of September and first days of October. This is my favourite time of year here..... great colours and no bugs!

    Hi Ethan,

    Stunning work as always! I'm headed to Algonquin this long weekend and I'm wondering if you could recommend a couple of places/trails along the Hwy 60 corridor that should not be missed. Secondly, was the image with the red maple leaf captured above Ragged Falls?

    Nancy, I'm not near the park right now so am not current on colour progression, but you should check: Lake of Two Rivers (from Hwy 60), Rock Lake Road, Canisbay Campground and Centennial Ridges trail. The leaf photo was at Oxtongue River Rapids park west of Algonquin Park towards the town of Dwight.
