Sand ripples and clouds, Dorcas Bay, Bruce Peninsula National Park
I couldn't resist the dramatic clouds that rolled in a couple nights ago! I shot this from a slightly higher perspective than the photo in the previous post..... and managed to stay dry for a change!

Gorgeous shot with the dark clouds reflecting off the water and the really interesting patterns in the sand.

ReplyDeleteI got an excellent question for you about the filters you use. Now i just recently brought a Cokin P series holder and the thing im really confused about is the singh ray filters. I would really like to get two singh ray filters. but the thing i dont know about the sizes. Now my camera size is a 52mm and so the question is does my 52mm size fit in with the P Holder size? or the 4x6 size that is offered on the singh ray site? or should i be looking for a exact 52mm size filter? i know this sounds really confusing but i would really like to know what you think. p.s. awesome photos. Their really great.

You should be able to get a Cokin adapter ring for the P-series holder to fit each of your leses.
For the Singh-Ray ND grad filters, I'd suggest getting standard "P" size filters - which will fit the P-series holder. The front lens element on your lens is fairly small at 52mm, so I don't think there would be benefit going to the larger 4x6" filters (which don't fit the P-series holder).
If you are buying polarizers (I consider them essential for landscape photography), go for the sprocket-type designed to fit in the P-series holder.
This solution means you can use the same filters for various lenses using the P-series holder... a very efficient and effective filter system.

ReplyDeleteI did manage to get the holder and filters for it. Got the NGD Kit for P-series holder and they work great. probably not as great as the Singh-Rays but will do for now. Thanks for the help.
