Happy Holidays!

I thought this photo might help to spread the holiday cheer! This was some kind of domestic hybrid duck that was hanging out in a flock of ducks I was photographing in New Mexico. I nick-named it "Fluffy" and smiled every time it swim past us. Although I've been photographing amazing natural landscapes and species almost daily, this is one of my favorite trip photos because of the character it evokes.

The holidays are going great..... I'm spending time with my folks at a beautiful rental house in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson. Since the weather has been dull, I've been enjoying being lazy..... vegging out in front of the television, fattening up on great food and drinking fine red wine. What a perfect break from life in the camper van.

I wish everyone a great holiday season!

    Hi Ethan,

Thought I would drop you a line, tell you how jealous I am, as it appears you are having a fantastic time, and putting the shutters through a wild workout. I have been following your Blog/trip since your visit to Richmond Hill Camera Club. If you were back home, it has been Grey and either snowing or raining for a month, when it was sunny it was -15 (won't even tell you the windchill values)....I am heading to Midland tomorrow (Sat) to see if I can spot any Great Greys. They are in the Ottawa area, one was found today in Fenelon falls, I haven't seen a Bird report out of Barrie and Midland all winter so I might as well take a first hand look. There are also Snowy's everywhere of course I haven't seen any. Look forward to seeing your next adventures if you can pry yourself from the couch :)

    Hey Ethan,

Great shot! This little guy's expression is the sort of thing I'm looking for as well as "family" shots or shots with two, and they don't have to be geese...it can be anything that looks like a goose or duck! Looking forward to reading more :) Julie
